Overview
This project explores the design of album artwork and visual identity for Mark Fell’s Multistability (2011), translating the album’s structural explorations in rhythm, repetition, and perception into a precise and minimal visual form. Drawing from the distinctive sounds of early digital retro gaming, the design reinterprets these sonic textures through a system of abstract iconography and pixel inspired geometry. The process focused on how to reflect audio rhythms, by using grids, repetition and glitch inspired typography to convey the album’s complex sense of timing and instability. The result reflects both the analytical nature of Fell’s compositions and the playful energy of digital nostalgia, presenting a contemporary interpretation of sound through structure and iconography.
