Overview
This project explores a campaign to promote a healthy city in Cowley (Oxford). By focusing on three select areas: planting, movement, and community engagement. The project was driven by the challenge Cowley faced with a lack of growth and engagement. The goal was to create a strategy that connects residents, encourages engagement, and makes sustainable actions meaningful and fun. To address this, I designed the planted app, a gamified platform that acts as a central hub for the campaign. Posters, stickers, and other materials use QR codes to direct users to the app, creating an easy interaction between physical and digital campaign materials. The app features an interactive map, personalisation features, a points achievement system and friend and community leaderboards. Each pillar of the campaign is represented by a mascot, one for planting, one for movement, and one for community, designed to engage younger audiences first while remaining accessible to families and the wider community. These characters translate different goals into relatable actions, giving the campaign identity a strong appeal. Demonstrating a cohesive, strategic solution to promote urban health and wellbeing in Cowley.
